But there is a catch to it, you must do a lot of research. You have to compare a lot of various prices, discounts, read reviews.

Travel more but spend less on the hotels here is how:

I will share few links with you and my proven methods to find the best stay in the area. You will thank me later after your read Travel more but spend less on the hotels here is how.

1)      Airbnb.com – rent an apartment or a room from home owners. Prices vary. It depends on the location, the amount of privacy and amenities. As you can tell on the photo, I searched for the places in Atlanta, GA with specific dates. If you want the whole place to yourself then click on entire place. You can also set price limits. Some of the properties ask for cleaning fees and you must pay Airbnb fee.

Pros:

You get to experience the city from the local point of view, some offer breakfast in the morning, majority give you a city guide and recommendations. You must find the best of the best by reading a lot of reviews and writing a host prior to booking your stay. If something doesn’t feel right then don’t do it.

Cons:

Sometimes hotels may be a cheaper option. Place might be not as described. In my case, I ended up with a room that had a huge space between walls and a ceiling which gave me zero privacy. They could hear me snoring and tossing at night. Not good! However, while in Puerto Rico I had the best host and the most fun stay ever imagined. We live and learn but I always go to airbnb as my first choice. Similar websites to airbnb.com are flipkey.com and roomorama.com

2)      Hotwire.com – known as cheap discount travel and deals. The prices are a lot cheaper than booking directly via hotel, however you cannot find out which particular hotel it is until you fully prepay. Use this website if you are sure that you will be going to this particular city on that day.

Pros:

You save at least $10-20 on average. You get to select an area you want to stay in.

Cons:

You cannot cancel your reservation. You are not able to see reviews for particular properties.

3)      Booking.com – great hotel booking service. You get to see which hotels you are reserving, total price is displayed and honest room availability is listed. I tend to find the hotel with that price I like the most then I start reading reviews. If I am still confused about the particular property, I google the full name of the hotel. Usually TripAdvisor.com has the best opinions and photo justified comments for those hotels written.

Pros:

Price is displayed in full. Book now but pay later. Honest reviews.

Cons:

Outdated website and photos.
